At Linslade Lower School we follow the National Curriculum (2014) for mathematics and ensure that children develop the skills to work confidently and fluently.

Throughout the school we are introducing the CPA (concrete, pictorial, abstract) approach that is used in highly successful countries like Singapore. It is written in line with the English National Curriculum but has a strong focus on developing number sense, fluency and problem solving. Information videos are available from the main mathematics page.

In our teaching we provide lots of hands-on, practical, problem solving activities so that children can master the concepts. The curriculum in early years is set out in the Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.

From reception to year 4 children have maths everyday, the timing and content of each session varies.
