Welcome to the Summer Term!
We have reached the summer term already. Can you believe it? The children are very excited about getting out on the field at play times this term - let's keep our fingers crossed for some warmer weather. There's much to look forward to in the coming weeks...
- We hope to welcome some chicks from the eggs that are currently incubating in the corridor.
- We start our fantastic ocean themed topic - The Blue Abyss.
- Eco warriors will be out litter picking at play times.
- We have an exciting KS2 trip booked for July.
- We will be creating a variety of ocean inspired art...to name just a few.
I can't wait to get going.

Ancient Egypt Day
We've had a great day celebrating all things ancient Egyptian! The children have made their own paint and papyrus paper. They've created shadufs from Lego. Played the ancient game, Senet. Made scarab beetle amulets from clay and turned themselves into pharaohs. It's been a busy, but fun day...and their costumes were fantastic!

Meet The Teacher Presentation
Welcome to Year 3
Hello, and welcome to the year 3 class page. We've had a busy first few days back and I have been thoroughly impressed with how well the class have settled and with the maturity of their behaviour and contributions so early after the summer break.
Swimming has gotten off to a flying start and everyone has managed the transitions in and out of the pool swiftly and sensibly. This week we have mainly focused on establishing expectations and routines. We've distributed classroom responsibilities and worked together to generate our class rules linked to the UN convention on the rights of the child. Later this week we will start our maths and science topics as well as a short poetry project using similes.

Below you will find our class timetable so that you can be aware of what the children are getting up to each day - so when they respond 'I can't remember' when asked at the dinner table, you will be able to jog their memory! I have also included our curriculum overview for the year to give you an insight into what will be coming up as we move through year 3. At the bottom you will find the KS2 forest school timetable for the autumn term.
