Milk and Snacks

Milk and snacks

At morning break time children in the Early Years and Key Stage 1 are offered a piece of fruit. This is

free and provided by the Government fruit scheme.

Parents who would like to can send in a healthy snack for your child in Key Stage 2 to eat at playtime.  Please use a named container to store the snack in.

A healthy snack is a piece of fruit, some raisins or similar. No nuts, crisps or chocolate please.

No cakes, biscuits, pastries or desserts (except yoghurt or fruit-based desserts containing at least 50% fruit).

The same information applies to snacks for clubs.

Please ensure all food in school is NUT FREE.

Milk is free to pupils in the Early Years. Parents of children in other year groups may purchase milk

from ‘Cool Milk’. All parents who want their children to have milk need to register on www.coolmilk.com

Children who are entitled to free school meals (not the universal offer) are also entitled to milk free of charge, their parents should let the school office know if they want their child to have it.

We encourage children to bring fresh water in a named water bottle to school each day so that they can help themselves to a drink when they are thirsty. Fresh water is also available from water fountains in the school.
