Physical Education (PE)
PE is taught in accordance with the National Curriculum and classes do a minimum of 2 hours PE per week. As well as using the hall we are able to use our beautiful school grounds.
The PE we offer is enriched by our membership of the local Schools Sports Partnership. This gives us access to staff training, specialist teaching and enables us to participate in local competitions and events.
Children develop their skills and knowledge in dance, gymnastics and team games. In key stage 2 they also have the opportunity to go swimming.
In addition to our curriculum PE we offer a number of sports clubs, for example gymnastics, tag rugby and multi-sports. Currently these are free of charge because the sports premium funds them. To enable as many children to participate as possible we offer places on rotation. We use independent providers and coaches from 'Future Games' to lead many of these clubs.
At break times children have access to outdoor equipment for climbing and balancing and smaller pitches for football and basketball. At lunchtime children have access to small sports equipment lie skipping ropes and beanbags and are helped to play by our children volunteers the 'Milton Monkeys'.
